🌱 Growing Healthy Minds & Bodies at Edna W. Runner Education Center! 🍓
Our young gardeners (and Mr. Travis) are beaming with pride as they harvest their very first strawberries - grown from seeds they planted themselves! There's nothing quite like the joy on a child's face when they taste a fruit they've nurtured from the very beginning.
Did you know that gardening does more than just provide fresh, healthy food? It teaches our students: • Patience and responsibility • Basic science concepts • Where their food comes from • Healthy eating habits that last a lifetime • The satisfaction of growing their own food
When children are involved in growing fruits and vegetables, they're more likely to try new, healthy foods and develop better eating habits. Plus, gardening gets them outside, active, and connected to nature!
These hands-on experiences are planting seeds for a healthier future, one strawberry at a time! 🌿 Thank you to the Mary McArtor Reynolds Memorial Giving Fund for making this program continue in 2025!

Special appreciation to the coaches for fostering this spirit of community service and showing our students what it means to be true leaders both on and off the court. These meaningful connections make such a powerful impact on our youth! 💫
