Join us in celebrating Black History Month at the Edna W. Runner Education Center! It is always a delight to welcome our seniors together. Thanks to our supporters from Velocity Community Credit Union , Publix, and The Jim Moran Foundation, we had an incredible event filled with vibrant cultural expressions and community spirit. Our celebration featured a stunning fashion show showcasing creativity and heritage. Unique jewelry shopping, and Insightful talks by our esteemed speakers: Josh Liller from the Jupiter Lighthouse and Jill from the Jupiter Medical Center Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support Group.
Our talented students filled the air with music as they performed:
🎶 "Lift Every Voice" by our Kindergarten & First Grade
🎶 "I Can" by the 2nd and 3rd Graders
🎶 "Who Am I" by the 4th and 5th Graders
A special thank you to Mrs. Veronica, our Culinary Trade teacher, who harvested collard greens from Simon's Giving Garden to prepare a delicious soul food lunch. We are grateful to Ms. Rose Pineda for blessing the food and to our fabulous MC, Ms. Andrea Burgess, for guiding us through this inspiring event.

On this National Leadership Day, we couldn't be prouder of our own Executive Director, Travis Conway!
Mr. Travis's outstanding leadership at the center has led to numerous awards for the team, the center, and Mr. Travis. Our art, music, trade, garden, and STEM programs have grown under his leadership.

Another year in the books! Huge thank you to The Jim Moran Foundation and Velocity Community Credit Union for supporting the spirited tradition of "The Big Game" celebration, bringing Super Bowl excitement to local students and their families. Young fans donned handmade shirts supporting both the The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, creating an electric atmosphere at the center.
The annual event featured all the hallmarks of game day – complete with treats, enthusiastic fans, and even cheerleaders leading the festivities. In what could be a promising sign for Chiefs supporters, the students' own matchup saw Kansas City edge out Philadelphia in a nail-biter, 20-19.
Thank you to City Sweets, our volunteers, Board of Directors, all the parents, and staff who made this day so special. A very very special thank you to The Smith Brothers Foundation for creating this beautiful new field so our students have a safe and enjoyable place to play. We are so grateful!

🌱 Amazing things are growing at the Edna W. Runner Education Center! Simon's Giving Garden is teaching our students STEM principles through hands-on experience in our food forest and preserve. From reading, to science to ecosystem management, our young scientists are learning valuable lessons while cultivating their own fresh produce!
Watching our students' faces light up as they discover how their food grows and understanding the connection between nature and nutrition is truly priceless. This living laboratory is growing more than just plants - it's growing future environmental stewards and scientists! 🌿
