Hailing from humble beginnings, Edna's upbringing instilled a natural compassion and a relentless commitment to service. Her crowning achievement came in 2022 when President Joe Biden honored her with the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award. Yet, it wasn't the accolades that defined her but a lifetime of unwavering dedication to the community she dearly loved. 

As the Executive Director of The Edna W. Runner Education Center, she created more than an educational institution. It became a safe haven, a second home for the children of West Jupiter. Her warmth and genuine love left an indelible mark on the countless students who walked through its doors. Her impact rippled far beyond textbooks; she nurtured dreams, instilled confidence, and became a trusted mentor for those seeking guidance. 

Ms. Edna’s legacy is a testament to the transformative power of love, kindness, and education. She believed that where a child starts should never dictate where they finish.
